For the first time in the History of Isshinryu, a major Isshinryu event has been held in Canada. Shihan Albert Mady of Windsor, ON played host to the event taking place at the Cleary Center overlooking the river dividing Windsor from Detroit, Michigan.  And it was an event to remember with many promotions, news and a competitive tournament.

A number of students at the Dojo in Cookstown, Ontario successfully graded and were promoted to their next rank.  The Dojo in Cookstown is run by Sensei Harri Makivirta. Congratulations to everyone that successfully earned their next belt!

October 1st, 2006 - Shihan Bob Markovich comes to the Toshikai Dojo of Ottawa

Congratulations to Till Kuendiger on his promotion to Shodan.

The Isshin Ryu karate-ka in Ottawa are still dizzy from all of the training completed with Shihan Markovich on the weekend of Sept. 30th.  Brown belts and black belts were given two seminars on the bunkai of Wansu and Chinto katas and Isshin Ryu's Bo-bo Kumite.  Shihan also taught a 3 hour Arnis seminar to some 20 local martial artists.
